New blogs joining The LexBlog Network for the week of 2/7-2/11
February 11, 2011
A week that was preceded by the Green Bay Packers winning the Super Bowl fittingly ends with a great batch of launches as we have six new publications joining The LexBlog Network. While we love to see newcomers get off to phenomenal starts (such as Linda Evers), it’s also fun to see strong established publications join the Network. Amongst other launches this week, Angelo Paparelli’s almost 7-year-old Nation of Immigrators joins the fray.
- We’re excited to announce Angelo Paparelli‘s excellent blog, Nation of Immigrators, has joined The LexBlog Network. Angelo, an attorney at Seyfarth Shaw, first published to this blog way back in October of 2004. This publication, which is one of the strongest immigration blogs on the web, makes it four blogs on The LexBlog Network from Seyfarth Shaw.
- Possessio is a sharp-looking real estate blog from St. Louis law firm Lewis, Rice & Fingersh. The publication is written and maintained by ten attorneys in the firm’s real estate practice group. Even though it’s just launching this week, the blog already carries a remarkable amount of content on topics that include mortgages, the FDIC, green building, leasing and negotiation.
- Adding to the number of great employment law blogs on The LexBlog Network, of which Constangy Brooks & Smith already has one, we have Employee Benefits Unplugged launching this week. As the title suggest, this blog aims to be a bit different than most employment publications, offering conversational analysis on ERISA and lively discussion on all things employment.
- The North Carolina Property Tax Law Monitor is authored by Bell, Davis & Pitt lawyers John Cocklereece, Jr. and Justin Hardy. In their own words, they started this blog for two reasons: “to create a place to collect information relevant to North Carolina property tax matters” and “to provide a forum for those interested in such matters to discuss issues, ask and answer questions, and reflect on developments related to this corner of the law.” Off to a good start thus far.
- Baker Hostetler launches its fourth blog on The LexBlog Network in the form of the Hospitality Lawg. Acknowledging that business has changed since the tough economic times of the past few years, this publication aims to examine and provide commentary on the hospitality industry in what they call the “new normal.”
- Speech Advice is exactly what it sounds like, as renowned and experienced public speaker Faith Pincus offers insight on public speaking for lawyers and law firms. What’s unique here is that she’s one of the only, if not the only, experts at specifically coaching attorneys. She writes on public speaking and CLEs, overcoming the fear of public speaking, presentation technique and other relevant topics.
