Radio Nowhere : Is anyone listening to my blogging?
“Radio Nowhere” is a track on Bruce Springsteen’s Magic album.
Listening to the song and lyrics written by Springsteen, I can’t help but feel for a blogger putting in the effort, but wondering if anyone out there is listening.

I’m often comparing blogging to having your own talk radio show. As you start blogging you have to talk to at least one person, even if the one person is you.
But as you move along you’re looking for someone beyond just you to listen to your blogging. You need to know you’re reaching someone else out there.

You’re looking for some feedback. You’re looking for some acknowledgment that the insight and commentary is of value to your audience.
You’re looking for some blogging love. You’re looking for your blog to take off – at least within your niche audience.
You’re looking for some comments. You’re looking for your blog posts to be shared on social media. You’re looking for your posts to be cited on other blogs.
You’re looking to contacted by mainstream media. You’re looking for speaking engagements.

As a year or two goes by (if you’ve been blogging effectively), you’re looking to having established trust with your audience, you want your network to have grown, you want to have built relationships, you want to be known as a ‘go to’ lawyer in your niche, and you want quality business from the reputation and relationships you’ve built.
You want to really hear it. You want to really feel it.
