Today brings more legal analysis on major news stories. We have multiple posts on Michael Jackson's estate as well a great post by Daniel Schwartz on what employers can learn from the Riccie v. DeStefano SCOTUS case.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/29/09

After a weekend of baseball games, rafting and extreme sunburn I'm back with another set of the day's best. I hope everyone else enjoyed their days off. Today, we have multiple posts on the Ricci v. DeStefano case in the Supreme Court. Have a look at what appears to be the most prominent legal story of the day.

Another great week comes to a close. It's a gorgeous day in Missoula and I'm going to wrap this up so I can head to a ballgame, Opening Day for the Missoula Osprey. As could be expected, we have a few posts on the legal fallout from Michael Jackson's death. Have a look and enjoy the weekend everyone.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/25/09

This roundup comes in a little bit tardy due to the first round of the NBA Draft, as fellow LexBlogger Jared Sulzdorf and I watched his Timberwolves draft two three point guards. Wow. In other news, we have a post on the student strip-search case in the SCOTUS and a family law perspective on Jon and Kate.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/24/09

Very interesting posts today on a variety of topics that have been in the news lately. It's always good when I can compile a list that closely resembles the front page of a newspaper, but with every story being a legal take on what the mainstream media has. Today, J. Benjamin Stevens has news on Governor Mark Sanford's affair and the best iPhone apps for busy attorneys while Salvatore Zambri has some legal analysis on the Metrorail crash.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/22/09

Today was a little bit slower than normal as far as content goes so I pulled what I could from those who were writing on Father's Day. However, that certainly doesn't mean we're entirely without some great content. Today, Chuck Becker has his opinion on what is the most important environmental law case ever and there is a very interesting post by Patrick Maines on the negative impact these trying times have had on the journalistic ethics of some mainstream media outlets.

It's become common knowledge that employers are wary of what potential hires might have on various social networks so they may include those in their background checks. The city of Bozeman, Montana has taken things a step further and asked that applicants list the usernames and passwords for the social networking sites they are members of. Reason 1,265 why Missoula is a much better place.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/17/09

We have news from the Executive Office today with takes on President Obama wanting to create an Ocean Policy Task Force and what impact his financial regulatory reforms will have on the insurance industry. There's also an interesting post on how those in the pharma industry can use social media.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/15/09

Another Monday is in the books and it's time for the daily roundup of content from around the LexBlog network. There's been a decent amount oif discussion in the legal blogosphere today about President Obama's desire to 'rein in' medical malpractice lawsuits. Maxwell Kennerly has an interesting post on the story.

Like most people, I love great ideas and have a certain appreciation for clever marketing and positive public relations. We have two posts in today's roundup that relate to those ideas. The first is on on a contest put together by The Law Offices of Joe Bornstein. My other favorite post from today is on the revenue raked in by Dell's brilliant use of Twitter. Have a great weekend everyone.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/11/09

Today we have some recent news on stories that have been around for a little while. First off, the economic bailout: a law firm in California is the first to get funds from the Economic Assistance Package. And on swine flu: the World Health Organization has raised the pandemic level again. As always, there's more than just a couple interesting stories.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/10/09

Today, President Obama annointed a new 'Compensation Czar'. This afternoon, fellow editorial staff member Jared Sulzdorf and I were discussing the oddity of using the term 'Czar' considering the last really prominent person to hold this title was Nicholas II. He was assassinated. Nevertheless, we have a new Czar and a post on the story it's one of today's 10 best.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/9/09

The post that stands to me the most today has to be Cordell Parvin's take on what the legal industry can learn from Amazon, Netlix and iTunes. He points to their "long tail" business models and the similarities between their success in the virtual realm and the rise of virtual law firms. There's also a great post from Steve Jakubowski on the Chrysler bankruptcy. Like the rest of the posts from today, very interesting stuff.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/7/09

There are a few posts in today's roundup discussing recent SCOTUS decisions but I have to say I was suprised to see nothing on Justice Ginsberg temporarily blocking the sale of Chrysler to Fiat. Hm, maybe some of our bankruptcy bloggers were watching the WWDC Keynote. Kidding. Either way, enjoy today's best.

LexBlog Law Network Roundup - 6/5/09

Better late than never, here are today's ten best posts. A lot of different topics covered today so glance around at whatever interests you and maybe something that normally wouldn't. Have a great weekend everyone.

LexBlog Network Law Roundup - 6/3/09

It is another gorgeous day out in Missoula, I hope it's the same where you are. Before a run down the Clark Fork, here's a roundup of today's best posts. For college students and their parents, there's some depressing news: an interesting post on the possibility of student loan forgiveness programs being at risk and another on the fact that four-year colleges barely graduate half of their students in six years.

LexBlog Network Law Roundup - 6/2/09

Second day back working full-time comes to a close with yet another batch of the best. As could be expected, bankruptcy news in the auto industry is the topic of multiple posts in today's roundup. Have a look.

Great content across the network Monday, with the obligatory "Jon & Kate Plus 8" post and an insightful entry from Peter Vogel on Barack Obama's stance on cybersecurity in the 21st Century. Enjoy.
