Six Apart launching business enterprise blog solution

In a big sign that corporate blogs are taking hold, Six Apart is launching an enterprise blog solution. Six Apart produces the business blog platform, Movable Type and the consumer/social platform, TypePad.

There will be now two new business-oriented blogging products:

  • TypePad Business Class is a hosted service aimed primarily at companies with high-traffic Web sites using blogs to communicate to their audiences. The cost will be $89.95 per blog per month.
  • Movable Type Enterprise, a server-based blogging tool meant for large-scale internal deployments.

Law firms and professional service firms without active blog programs are still going to need more than these solutions offer. The firm's marketing departments need to understand what professional marketing blogs are, what they are not, custom design, training, marketing support, how to use them as a networking tool for their professionals and much more.

LexBlog commends Six Apart for making good blogging tools more readily available. It's a modified Movable Type platform that is driving our clients' blogs. So we're always pleased to see Six Apart working on new ideas.

Thanks for the mention! We definitely agree that, while we're excited about the new platforms we're creating, it's the community support and knowledge of experts like LexBlog that really adds business value to blogs. This is even more true in areas like the legal profession, where experience in the industry can make the difference between just “having a blog” and really thriving.
