Real Lawyers Have Blogs : Law Blogs, Blawgs, Law Firm Marketing

As another week draws to a close, it's time to showcase the blogs LexBlog debuted over the past five days. We saw four new blogs go live this week. They covered a wide range of legal issues.

The new blogs launched from April 14-18:

• the Surrogacy & Egg Donation Blog, the second assisted reproduction blog authored by California attorney Theresa Erickson. Erickson's company Conceptual Options is an industry leader in this fast-paced industry, a fact evidenced the content in their blog.
• the Bay Area Real Estate Blog, a business law blog highlighting developments in real estate law and authored by Marin County lawyer David C. Winton.
• the K&L Gates Construction Law Blog, a construction law blog authored by attorneys from the firm's construction & engineering practicing group. This is the third K&L Gates blog currently live, joining their Electronic Discovery Law Blog and the Texas Non-Compete Law Blog.
•  the Minnesota DWI Blog, a DWI/DUI law blog covering a range of criminal defense issues. Published by Jason & Cynthia Brown from the Brown Law Offices, it brings the firm to a total of 2 live LexBlog blogs (along with their Minnesota Divorce & Family Law Blog).

Since last week's update on LexBlog's latest launches was noticeably absent, today's post includes all the blogs that went live between Tuesday, March 18 and Friday, April 4. There were ten blogs altogether...and, unlike most other weeks, not all of them focus on the law.

Our latest launches include:

• the Podiatry Malpractice Blog, a podiatric medicine law blog authored by New Jersey doctor and attorney Michael Quinn and dealing with issues at the intersection of law and medicine.
• Ross Ink, LexBlog's first exclusively journalism-focused blog. Written by freelance journalist (and former Seattle Times reporter) Ross Anderson, it offers an outlet for the author to publish his creative and investigative works.
•  the California Appellate Law Blog, managed and maintained by the Walnut Creek attorneys at Archer Norris. This appellate blog deals with all issues of the appeals process.
• the North Carolina Business Litigation Report, covering judicial decisions that could impact businesses and their shareholders. Mack Sperling of Brooks Pierce LLP writes the content for this business law blog.
• the Pet Trust Law Blog, an estate planning law blog written by Florida attorney Danny Meek and focusing on proper planning for your pet's future.
• the eLawyering Blog, providing news and tips for successful online lawyering. This online legal services blog is maintained by Florida lawyer Richard Granat (who runs a virtual law firm himself).
• the Aviation & Airport Development Law Blog, authored by the Costa Mesa attorneys at Chevalier, Allen & Lichman LLP. This aviation law blog covers various flight-related matters of importance to both government and private entities.
• Doc Ernie's Blog, a Puget Sound spinal injury blog run by Dr. Ernie Franz, an ER doctor who has experienced life on both sides of the hospital bed.
• Property of the Estate, published the Texas lawyers at Rochelle, Hutcheson & McCullough LLP. This bankruptcy law blog focuses on developments in plaintiff-oriented bankruptcy litigation.
• A re-designed version of the Maritime Injury Lawyer Blog, a Jones Act law blog authored by the Texas lawyers & attorneys from Vujasinovic & Beckcom LLP.

Since there wasn't enough time to get this post out on Friday, we're starting the week off with another list of our recent blog launches. This one encompasses more than just a week: it starts on March 4 with the launch of Kevin McBride's blog, and continues up until this morning, when we saw two more projects debut.

The new blogs launched from March 4-17, 2008 were:

• e-DiscoveryLA, an electronic discovery law blog authored by Los Angeles attorney Kevin P. McBride. Kevin, who is both a practicing lawyer and a consultant, uses the blog to update readers on e-discovery matters as they play out in Southern California's courts.
• The recently-revived Texas Non-Compete Law Blog, authored by K & L Gates lawyer Robert Wood. Formerly a Hughes & Luce project, this non-compete agreement law blog was taken down and rebranded after that firm was acquired by K & L Gates.
• The Texas Appellate Law Blog, written & maintained by Austin attorney D. Todd Smith. Todd's site is an appellate law blog offering practice tips, resources and news.
• Climate Law Update, offering climate law/renewable energy news from professional journalists and specialized attorneys alike. Produced by the AmLaw 200 firm Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner, this sustainable energy law blog provides daily updates on the latest climate change news.
• The NJ Family Legal Blog, Fox Rothschild's newest venture into the blogosphere. The firm's ninth project with us, this family law blog is produced by four of the firm's attorneys.
• The HR Lawyer's Blog, written by Texas attorney Christopher McKinney of The McKinney Law Firm. Christopher uses his employment discrimination blog to update readers on relevant employment law issues.
• The Federal Criminal Defense Blog, authored by Georgia lawyer Thomas Withers of Gillen, Withers & Lake Law Firm. A criminal defense blog dealing with federal matters, this project deals with litigation within and outside of the Peach State.
• The Cash Flow Solutions Blog, a financial law blog produced by Integral Financial Solutions LLC. Authored by David Austin (of the LexBlog client firm Burke & Eisner) and Barry Goldberg, this blog provides readers with scheduled disbursement options.

That makes 8 blogs over 10 business days. Keep watching this space; as we continue to launch blogs, we'll continue to provide a formal introduction here.

We continued cranking the blogs out this week, with five new launches (an average of one a day). Some of these projects were from existing LexBlog bloggers; others, from new clients who decided to join us in the blogosphere.

The blogs launched between February 11-15 were:

• The Immigration Law Answers Blog, authored by Texas lawyer & attorney Robert Kraft of Kraft & Associates. Through writing an immigration law blog that focuses on answering reader queries, Bob is putting his 30+ years legal experience to good use.
• The D & O Diary, dealing with issues related to directors & officers liability. Authored by Ohio attorney Kevin LaCroix of Oakbridge Insurance Services, this insurance law blog occupies a niche market within the management liability sector of the law.
• The Benzene Leukemia Law Blog, geared at providing relevant news for victims of Benzene exposure. Authored by New Hampshire lawyer & attorney David Austin of Burke & Eisner, this personal injury law blog is the firm's second project with us (joining their Cerebral Palsy Law Blog).
• The two other blogs were launched by Bill Marler and his fellow Seattle attorneys at Marler-Clark. Joining the firm's fleet of food safety-related blogs, we welcome the firm's Botulism Blog and the Enterobacter Sakazakii Blog.
