Franchising, Construction, Intellectual Property and A Lot More: New Blogs Joining the LexBlog Network

February 20, 2015

Because of upgrades to the LexBlog publishing platform last week and the ensuing content freeze, we’ve got a bit of a two-fer this week with new publications from this week and last—and there’s a lot of them. There’s nine in total, to be exact. So let’s jump into it.

  • Franchise law is a niche we don’t see quite enough, and one that stands to bear some fruit for those who blog on it. It looks like that will be the case for Quarles & Brady‘s Franchise Law Update, as they’re off to a strong start on this responsive new blog. Aiming to go beyond basic news and litigation, they aim to offer key insight on trends in the franchise law space.
  • And that isn’t the only new blog from the Am Law 200 firm either, as Quarles & Brady also launched the cleverly-titled To Be or Not to 340B Blog. This one, the firm’s fifth on the LexBlog Network, is dedicated to the 340B Drug Pricing Program and its related laws and regulations
  • The growth of Squire Patton Boggs‘ blog network just isn’t slowing down as the launch of the UK Planning Blog makes it 13 for the firm on the LexBlog Network, and an ever-expanding footpring in Europe. This blog is authored by Squire Patton Boggs’ Planning and Consents team, which advises clients from both the public and private sectors including energy and utility companies, local authority, food and other retailers, football clubs and commercial, residential and leisure developers.
  • And while that made it 13, Squire Patton Boggs hops right off to that unlucky number and is on to 14 LexBlog Network publications with the launch of the Insurance and Reinsurance Disputes Blog. In their own words, they aim to provide “provides timely summaries of recent and noteworthy insurance and reinsurance court decisions, discussions on issues impacting insurance and reinsurance disputes and commentary on other noteworthy developments concerning insurance and reinsurance.”
  • In looking at all the content flowing across the LexBlog Network, it’s become noticeable that the False Claims Act is a very popular subject in the legal world right now—and McGuireWoods face is head-on with the launch of the FCA Update. This blog, which already boasts quite a bit of content, has attorneys Laura McLanePaul M. Thompson and Tony Maida as editors.
  • The New England IP Law Blog is one of two intellectual property law blogs joining the LexBlog Network this week, both being quite niche-oriented. The blog, aiming to keep New England companies apprised of the latest trends and concerns impacting what they do, is authored by attorneys in the firm’s Boston office, with Justin Daniels and Safraz Ishmael serving as editors.
  • And the second of the two very niche intellectual property law blogs comes by way of Reed Smith, as they launch PTAB Musings. For those of you who don’t know, PTAB is the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, so this blog will offer thoughts and comments relating to patent post grant challenges.
  • It’s always exciting when an Am Law 200 firm we work with grows to having multiple publications on our network, and that’s exactly what we have with the launch of HR Defense from Akerman. It’s a publication that has existed for a while, but is now just joining our fine employment and labor law community—and we’re exciting to have it as they bring over a deep body of content and the ability to keep a close eye on the latest employment law issues.
  • And finally, to round out what is an excellent crop of new publications from some great firms, we have the Construction Law Zone from Robinson+Cole. This one, which makes it four for the firm on the LexBlog Network, is going big as it aims to cover current developments and recent trends in all areas of construction law.
