75 law firm partners, communications and marketing executives will gather in Chicago this Wednesday, October 15, for a Social Media Summit for Law Firms. The program hosted by BDI (Business Development Institute) will review the business dvelopment opportunities that await through the effective use of blogs and other social media.

BDI’s half-day format will share case studies and lessons learned from leading firms about how they use blogging and social media to highlight expertise, build new business and expand relationships with existing clients.

I wish I could be there, but I need to be in San Francisco. I have moderated panels at two of BDI’s Social Media Summits, they were outstanding and the half day is perfect for learning.

As a friend of LexBlog, please use the code ‘LEX50’ when registering here to receive 50% off event admission. Better yet, I have a few complimentary passes, let me know if you’d like one.

To get a better feel of what will be covered, here’s a number of the questions that will be answered.

 • How do law firms create and execute a content marketing strategy
 • How do you inspire successful lawyers to become recognized thought leaders that attract new clients?
 • What are the leading case studies for integrating social media marketing with traditional marketing and client development approaches?
 • How do leading firms deal with client confidentiality, security and compliance issues associated with social media marketing?
 • Why do you need to understand how clients consume information including emerging platforms such as tablets and mobile devices?
 • How do you create effective firm-branded blogs that will attract new clients and influence existing ones?
 • Why is LinkedIn the top public social media platform for clients and new recruits?
 • How do firms attract and retain top talent by embracing social media?

Sorry to miss this BDI Social Media Summit, I’ll make the next one.
