Finances, Taxes, Land Use, Trade Secrets, Digital, Privacy, FDA: New Blogs Joining the LexBlog Network

Nothing like heading out into the long weekend with a bang. Now, if you can’t tell by that long title, this week was a doozy as we’re proud to introduce seven new publications to the LexBlog Network, some from firms we’ve already partnered with on excellent blogs and others from firms new to our ranks—but already off to a phenomenal start.

  • The Finance & Restructuring Blog is the first of two launches from from Miami law firm Bilzin Sumberg. Intended as a resource for CEOs, CFOs, boards of directors, credit professionals, in-house counsel and other industry professionls, the blog aims to draw on its team of negotiators and litigators to keep readers apprised of the latest developments impacting their businesses.
  • Second up for Bilzin Sumberg, we have Taxes Without Borders—which is actually a pretty great title. As you can guess, this is an international tax blog.  In their own words, this publication is intended “for international investors, accounting professionals and attorneys who wish to transcend traditional borders while maintaining the most efficient tax conditions.”
  • One of the LexBlog Network firms with the largest array of blogs adds one more as Sheppard Mullin‘s Eye on Privacy makes it a robust 32 for the AmLaw 100 firm. Further adding to a thriving community of LXBN publications in this arena, Eye on Privacy provides constant updates on litigation, legislation and regulation affecting businesses working with data—and the technology to store, process, analyze and execute on it.
  • Coming from a firm with offices no more than six blocks up the street from LexBlog’s new digs, we have the Northwest Land Use Forum from Garvey Schubert Barer. Though, this one is comes from the firm’s Land Use Team, which is based down in Portland. The attorneys there write on topics that include condemnation and eminent domain, construction, zoning and development permit issues, leasing, planning and more.
  • Judging by the great use of videos in the first few posts, I’m going to have to keep an eye on this one: that’d be the Trade Secrets Insider from New Orleans law firm Jones Walker. This is their first publication on the LexBlog Network, and with it they aim to “provide timely insights on recent legal and practical developments concerning trade secrets, non-competes, computer fraud, and unfair competition.” Seriously, give this one a look as they’re doing it with some personality.
  • Focusing almost exclusively on a single government agency: it isn’t something I see a lot on the LexBlog Network, but when I do, it seems to work quite well—and I’d imagine the same will hold true for McGuireWoodsFDA Life. Though, to be fair, I will say they do a fine job of expanding beyond the FDA as well, as they even keep readers apprised of the latest international happenings in the life science industry as well. And, beyond having lawyers who are experienced in the industry, the firm’s practice group in this area also draws on the knowledge of two former members of the FDA and National Institutes of Health.
  • Last, but certainly not least, we have something that’s a bit more than a blog—actually a microsite: that’s Digital HHR from Hughes Hubbard & Reed. We’re excited to have this long-established site make its way onto the LexBlog Network as it represents our first work with AmLaw 100 firm. This site offers insight on nearly everything digital—from social media to copyright issues to gaming to privacy to television.
