Privacy & Data Security, Global IP, NJ Divorce, Corporate Compliance and Recovery: New Blogs Joining the LexBlog Network

November 15, 2013

Before we head out for a company-wide happy hour, it’s time to look back at the new blogs joining our network this week. Whew, when I started this post there were three blogs and then two more just went live in the process of writing. In the five new publications joining our ranks, it’s a great mix—we have law firms large and small and then a blog that isn’t even focused on the law. Good stuff all around.

  • McLane launched their second blog of 2013 with the debut of the firm’s Privacy & Data Security Blog. As we make sure with all our blog launches, they’re hitting the ground with some content—and the focus seems to be, so far, on the intersection of privacy law and the workplace. And I promise you, it’s always a busy intersection, especially when the NLRB gets involved. It isn’t the only focus though as they’ve also recently privacy issues for lawyers and clinical labs as well.
  • Speaking of the privacy and data security community, Mintz Levin already has a good blog there, but from a field also closely associated with technology (at times), they bring us Global IP Matters. This is the firm’s ninth publication on the LexBlog Network, but as much content they knock out, I’m almost surprised there aren’t more. Look for this publication to share a great deal of insight on legal intellectual property issues coming out of Europe.
  • It seems like a lot of family law blogs come out of the north east, and while I suspected a different result when I checked, New Jersey has the lowest divorce rate in the country? Nevertheless, for those going through a divorce and seeking guidance, we have Understanding NJ Divorce Law. The blog is authored by attorney Steven Kaplan, as he brings 25 years of experience to bear in writing the publication, in which he shares his personal experiences from a quarter-century as a family law attorney.
  • Compliance is a big, big issue across the corporate landscape—simply because there’s so many things companies need to be compliant with. Jackson Lewis‘s just-launched Corporate Compliance & White Collar Advisor will keep readers up-to-date on compliance issues associated with the SEC, OSHA and the Department of Justice. So far, they’ve written on a big whistleblower award coming out of the SEC and obstruction charges against a BP engineer.
  • And lastly, not every blog that joins the LexBlog Network is a legal blog. This week, we’re proud to announce the second blog from the Malibu Beach Recovery Center, one of the nation’s leading addiction treatment centers. Their most recent blog will focus on The Brentwood House, which is, in their own words, provides “addiction treatment by women for women.” The blog has an introductory post up that walks readers through what this center provides and what readers can expect from the blog.
