Seyfarth to liveblog Senate HELP Committee Hearing on minimum wage

Seyfarth live blogging senate hearing Next Wednesday Attorney Alexander Passantino (@AlexPassantino) of Seyfarth Shaw will be liveblogging the Senate HELP Committee’s hearing on “Keeping up with a Changing Economy: Indexing the Minimum Wage.”

Passantino, a former Acting Administrator and Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, will give real-time analysis of the hearing and take questions from liveblog participants. You can join him from 1o to 11 AM ET on the 14th.

The liveblogging will take place on our Wage and Hour Litigation Blog. Please register to receive a reminder on the day of the event.

It’s an honor for LexBlog and our LXBN Network to play a small role in empowering the insight and commentary Passantino and Seyfarth provide via blogging. They’re now taking it to another level with their reporting from live Senate hearings.

I’ve always seen the net and social media as the great equalizer for lawyers and those organizations who support good lawyers.

How, before the net and social media, could a good lawyer with subject matter expertise – not only knowledge of the law, but also with practical experience – cover as part of the media a live Senate hearing? And interact with the public at the same time. They could not have.

How could an organization such as LexBlog’s LXBN shine a light on a lawyer’s coverage like this and extend the reach of the coverage not only to our network, but beyond? Obviously, could never have happened before the net.

Kudos to Passantino and Seyfarth for what they’re doing here. It’s giving back to the law and the public in a real and meaningful way.

Share your stories of how you’re covering legal events and stories. LXBN and I want to bring them to light across our networks.
