Avvo expands lawyer marketing solutions

avvo-igniteOur friends up the street (literally) at Avvo introduced a client conversion and website solution for lawyers today called Avvo Ignite.

Talking to Josh King, Avvo’s Vice President, Business Development & General Counsel, yesterday, I understand Avvo’s goal is to allow lawyers to track prospective clients during the closing process, to close more clients in less time, and to know exactly which of their marketing channels are driving clients.

There will be multiple pricing points. Ignite Starter at $200 per month is for lawyers who are just starting to build their practice online and need a better online presence and Ignite Suite for lawyers looking for a complete client conversion and tracking solution.

Key features of Ignite Suite include, among other things:

  • Marketing intelligence dashboard to track which marketing channels and campaigns are truly generating new clients business.
  • Contact management dashboard to track the progression of every contact from first click or call to becoming a new client.
  • Mobile contact alerts & reminders to track contacts and respond immediately to new contacts.
  • Search & mobile optimized website.

King said Ignite was developed after listening to the attorneys using Avvo. Lawyers wanted a solution which could track and manage their leads from start to finish form what ever the source. With what King describes as a ‘Salesforce light,’ Avvo believes they can save lawyers time and help lawyers measure their return on marketing dollars.

Who will benefit from Avvo Ignite? No question that lawyers with little or no Internet presence can benefit. For lawyers who use a ‘sales funnel’ approach to measuring and closing leads Ignite Suite may save them a lot of time and provide a method of measuring your ROI.

Terms like ‘lead’ and ‘closing’ were foreign to me when I practiced law. Though I advertised some as a plaintiff’s lawyer, I looked at word of mouth and relationships as key.

But I’ll confess when I attend conferences today I do hear lawyers representing consumers and small businesses talking about getting more leads and even having a sales funnel to track them. I suspect that’s the sign of a more competitive landscape and technology allowing us to measure everything.

My guess is we’re going to see thousands of the lawyers already using Avvo as well as lawyers looking for a cost effective tracking and conversion solution take advantage of Ignite.
