I agree Kevin. The concept of a blog seems hard enough for people to grasp. The term blawgs (while cute and clever) just further confuses the perception of this useful publishing tool.

Let me know if you hear of anyone out there diving off the bandwagon with a fire sale on primo "Blawg" intellectual property like trademarks, domain names and the like. I think I have some buyers.

Hey Kevin, tell us how you really feel! ;-)

I like the term 'law blogs' too, but feel for those sites built on the term like blawg.org and blawgrepublic.com.

Yes, that's a problem I have Steve - being drawn out to express my feelings or opinions.

Anyway, nothing against those sites using the term 'blawg.' But they're rowing up stream if they are looking for the public to relate to what they are doing.

Far less people doing a search for the terms 'blawg' or 'blawgs' today than there was a year ago. So lawyers just now exploring the use of a blog as a marketing tool to reach non lawyers would be ill advised to touch the term 'blawg.'

I agree. Blawg is not a generally recognized term at this point. I just found out what the term mean today when I told someone that they misspelled the word Blog. I should have known better!
