New Jersey’s Stark & Stark blogging breaking news ahead of traditional media

November 6, 2006

New Jersey’s Stark & Stark found out a week ago last Friday that the New Jersey Supreme Court was going to issue a decision in a same-sex marriage case (Lewis v. Harris) at 3 PM. The law firm went into action.

When the Court’s decision was released the law firm used their dedicated RSS feed for press releases to announce that Attorney John Eory in their Divorce Group was available for commentary on the decision and its implications. They also issued a BREAKING NEWS post on the New Jersey Law Blog announcing that the long awaited decision had been reached by the Court.

Since the decision was handed down late in the afternoon Stark & Stark wanted to make the important points of the decision easily accessible for members of the media so John recorded 3 thirty to forty-five second MP3 sound bytes in which he explained:

The law firm was able to use RSS and Podcasting technology to get their message out about a highly important Court decision 35 minutes after the 90 page decision was released. John spoke with multiple reporters about this decision and, among other places, was quoted at length by USA Today.

Well done guys. Lessons to be learned by all.

And as way of full disclosure, Stark an Stark is a LexBlog client.
