Blogging and liability online class : Tonight & Thursday

Lauren Gelman will be teaching a class called ‘Bloggers and Liability‘ and it will cover statutory and First Amendment protections for bloggers, recent cases that might affect them, and things you may need to worry about on a citizen journalism blog community site. The class runs tonight, September 19 and Thursday, September 21, from 8:30-9:30 EST.

Lauren is Associate Director of Stanford Law School’s Center for Internet and Society, and Dean of State of Play Academy.

The course is being hosted by The State of Play Academy, the first law and technology academy built in a virtual world. Its purpose is to challenge the traditional means of imparting a legal education—in time, place and manner– by experimenting with opportunities offered by the virtual space. It is funded by a grant awarded to New York Law School by There.com.

Info and sign up is here.

Thanks for the link! BTW, I’m working on an article about cyberstalking and was wondering if you could direct me to any good resources on the topic – particularly the how to protect yourself angle or any blogs that have written about this from the legal perspective.
