Edelman Survey: Create visibility as authority is number one reason to blog

The leading reason for blogging per a just released blog survey from Edelman, a world wide PR company, is to enhance one's reputation as an authority. Interesting findings from the survey include:

  • 34% – the highest number — blog in order to be visible authorities in their field.
  • Frequency of posting
    • Every few days – 38%
    • Daily – 26%
    • More than once a day – 18%
    • Once a week – 11%
  • 38% write about companies, their products or their employees at least once a week. You ought to be listening to what is being said about your company and its clients.
  • 40% find a blog endorsed and produced by a company to be at least somewhat trustworthy.
