Real Lawyers Have Blogs On the topic of the law, firm marketing, social media, & baseball

What are other bloggers saying about you?

Larry Bodine reminds law firms they ought to be asking “What are other bloggers saying about you?

Ever wonder whether you are being trashed or lauded in the blogosphere? I read a great tip from the e-newsletter of Joan Stewart, a.k.a. The Publicity Hound.

If you want to see what the bloggers are saying about your company, or your firm, go to technorati and do a search. If nothing comes up, you need to start creating a presence on the Internet. Your own blog is a great place to start.

In addition to technorati, there's NewsGator ($59/year but more complete feeds), PubSub, Feedster, and Bloglines.

Better yet, once you've down a search for your firm name, competitors and the subject nature of matters the firm is working on, you can set up feeds so that any posts mentioning all the words or phrases you searched for will be fed directly to your desk top or Web based aggregator. You have to be doing this to compete on Internet time.

If you don't know how to do this stuff, give me a call. It's on the house.
